For my 8th birthday I really wanted a Nintendo, but my parents couldn’t afford one, so instead I used to draw Super Mario levels on sheets of connected A4 paper. On a separate page I would draw Mario (complete with a pixelated moustache), cut him out, and then ‘play’ the levels.
As soon as my parents got a computer (one of these bad boys) I started to learn how to program text games in basic, using several games programming books from Usborne (like this one).
Here’s a few things I’ve made since then.
- Katana
- The Real World
- Polar Payne
- Polar Paradise
- Mona the Assassin
- University projects (Jatto’s adventure & Deadstone Island)
- Maddieman series & Basic/Qbasic stuff
As well making games, I’ve been credited on a few commercial titles as well, mostly for support roles.
- The Fall of Max Payne
- Alan Wake
- Alan Wake’s American Nightmare
- Death Rally re-release for windows (I wrote the installer program \o/)
